Shipping Charges

MAINLAND UK: Standard delivery is FREE and will take 3-5 working days.  An EXPRESS CARRIER option can be selected at the checkout for a small additional charge.

UK OFFSHORE, CHANNEL ISLES, ISLE OF MAN, SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS & ISLANDS, NORTHERN IRELAND AND ROI: The cost of shipping shown at checkout may not be correct. If the actual shipping will be different to that shown on your order then we will contact you before processing the order, to inform you of the this, so that we can confirm whether you wish to proceed with the order or not.

INTERNATIONAL: The cost of shipping will be shown at checkout, although the cost of shipping shown may not be correct. We only dispatch and process orders Monday to Friday. We do not dispatch at weekends or bank holidays. If you order on a weekend your order will not be processed until the next working day.

We do not offer same day delivery on any of our products. 

Our standard cut off point for same day dispatch is 1pm but this can vary based on products. In the event of this changing we will add a prominent red banner to the checkout page advising of the current deadline for that day.

During busy periods such as Christmas, orders can be delayed. We will always aim to deliver on your specified date where a date has been selected. If you choose deliver ASAP, we will not prioritise your order and it may not be shipped the same day.

Delays

If an item is shipped by courier and has not arrived on the specified date, please email us immediately or contact the courier directly. They should send you an email with all of the details on. Problems can be resolved very easily.

If the order is shipped by Royal Mail then we have to work by their standard terms of practice. Although a very large percentage of post orders will arrive next day, this is not a guaranteed service. If an item has not arrived after 1 week then please email us. We will give you a set of procedures to follow to try and locate the item. If the item can’t be located, the address is correct and it has been 10 days from when the order has been shipped then we can offer to refund you or resend the gift. Please do feel free to email us anytime after the third day for updates or to check shipping date and address.

Although we try our hardest to maintain the time scales above there may be exceptional circumstances when these may not apply. This can be times when Royal Mail are very busy, like Christmas or in the event of you not supplying a full correct address, like a wrong postcode. In these events please contact us for more details as deliveries can take longer.

Returns

If you are not completely satisfied with an item you have purchased for any reason then you are entitled to return the order for a refund. Please contact us first to advise of any problems

Please note this policy excludes all our flower products, confectionery or food products with a use by date as these are perishable goods and exempt from this legislation, as well as all personalised items. We will consider refunds if there has been an error on our part but this excludes where we have had to amend a personalisation due to not being given the correct details on the order. Please contact us for details.

If an individual item is faulty then please contact us to arrange an exchange.

If you wish to return an item, please provide a note outlining your reasons for the return and send the product with all warranty cards, manuals etc. in the original box to:

Britten & James does not compensate for any costs incurred in returning items.

If you are returning an item because of an error by us or any part of the breach of Sale of Goods Act, we are more than happy to supply you with a free returns address. Please email us for details. In all other circumstances, you will be solely responsible for these charges and any other service charges involved in your original order (i.e gift wrapping, postage and packing). 

Cancelling Orders

Orders can be cancelled by emailing us via our contact us section. Once your order status has been changed to shipped we are unable to amend any delivery details.

Products Damaged on Arrival or Arriving Faulty 

We will immediately replace any damaged products provided that we are notified within 7 days of your receipt of the goods. If we cannot replace the defective item we will offer an alternative or refund you in full. We will also refund your postage cost in returning the product to us if necessary.
